The English Language Arts team at the office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools incorporates a standards-based, integrated and cross-curricular approach to assist schools in building a comprehensive literacy program.  Using the California State Standards and Frameworks for Literacy, English Language Development, and History-Social Studies, our team of successful and experienced educators designs learning support that can help schools maximize the disciplinary reading, writing, listening, and speaking in which their students engage.

In particular, the ELA/ELD/History Team provides district and school support ranging from specifically designed professional learning to classroom coaching and modeling, as well as sessions for administrators and paraprofessionals.  The team focuses all professional learning design on maximizing the potential of every learner, using principles of Universal Design for Learning and best practices, particularly to serve English Learners.
